American bakery-café chain Panera Bread has announced the addition of five new bakery items and three croissant breakfast sandwiches to its menu.

The bakery case now includes a selection of regular and bite-sized treats.

Among the new items are the Almond Pastry – a flaky pastry with sweet almond filling topped with sliced almonds and hand-drizzled icing – and the iced Cherry Pastry.

The Cranberry Orange Slice features cake with a sweet orange flavour, while the Coconut Macaroon and Chocolate Coconut Macaroon are both cookies with a chocolatey dip.

The brand also reintroduced the shortbread Pumpkin Cookie, which is shaped like a pumpkin and topped with seasonal icing.

Panera Bread is offering croissant sandwiches with a flaky twist on the classic as new breakfast items.

The Croissant Bacon, Egg & Cheese, the Croissant Sausage, Egg & Cheese and the Croissant Egg & Cheese sandwiches all feature scrambled egg and melted aged white cheddar, with options for Applewood smoked bacon or sausage.

To celebrate the launch of new bakery goods, the brand is offering a “Swicy” deal with 50% off baked goods with the purchase of the Spicy Fiesta Chicken Sandwich and a beverage at participating bakery-cafés.

The new offerings are part of the brand’s largest menu transformation – its New Era menu, launched in April 2024. The new menu focuses on enhancing core items and introducing new ones such as the Kickin’ Grilled Cheese and sweet and savoury breakfast options.

In July 2024, Panera Bread expanded its summer 2024 menu with the introduction of new sandwich options and avocado toasts.
