Canada’s quick-service restaurant Subway Canada has unveiled Doritos Footlong Nachos, for a limited period across the nation.
The new dish blends the classic crunch of Doritos tortilla chips with the fresh, quality ingredients for which Subway is renowned.
Available for an introductory price of $4, the Doritos Footlong Nachos are assembled with a generous serving of Doritos Nacho Cheese tortilla chips.
The dish is then layered with a rich blend of shredded cheese, including Monterey cheddar sourced from Canadian dairy farms, crisp lettuce, a zesty salsa mix, and a spicy addition of jalapeños, with banana peppers offered as an alternative in Quebec.
Each serving is crowned with Subway’s smoky Chipotle Southwest Sauce, imparting a creamy, savoury complexity.
Subway Canada culinary manager Chef John Botelho said: “The new Doritos Footlong Nachos are a novel take on a beloved snack that blends the iconic crunch of Doritos chips with the quality ingredients Canadians know and love from Subway. Whether enjoying solo or sharing amongst friends, Doritos Footlong Nachos offers a fun, flavourful experience in every bite.
“They’re best enjoyed in-restaurant for a limited time, so grab a friend, head to your local Subway, and savour them warm and perfectly crisp; guaranteed to hit the spot!.”
The Doritos Footlong Nachos can complement any Subway sandwich or can be served as a standalone snack.
For an additional $2, guests have the option to enhance their nachos with chicken or steak sourced from Canadian farms or to upgrade their side in any combo.
Earlier this month, Subway partnered with Doritos to introduce the footlong nachos for $5 in the US.
The US version features Doritos Nacho Cheese flavoured chips, a duo of cheddar cheese sauce and shredded Monterey cheddar, jalapeño slices, diced tomatoes, red onions, and a Baja Chipotle sauce.
