US-based coffee chain Philz Coffee has announced the integration of App Clips into its digital ordering system.

This new feature allows guests to order their favourite drinks and food items for collection without a full app installation.

The Philz Coffee App Clip is designed to work on iPhones running iOS 17 or later, offering a more personalised and efficient ordering process.

App Clip enables users to quickly locate a Philz Coffee shop using Apple Maps and place orders in advance to avoid waiting in a queue.

Philz Coffee’s menu includes handcrafted beverages and seasonal specialities such as the Nutty Caramel Nirvana and Caramel Cardamom Karma, which are part of the spring menu.

Payment can be made conveniently using Apple Pay, and customers can save their preferences for future visits.

In select locations across San Francisco, Orange County, San Diego, and Chicago, Philz Coffee has also made it possible for guests to scan an App Clip code in-store.

This allows them to instantly access the ordering system and place their orders on the spot, further enhancing the customer experience by reducing wait times.

Philz Coffee chief business officer Andy Mai said: “In today’s digital-first world, we recognise that guests want quick, seamless experiences. Our integration with App Clips aligns perfectly with our mission to provide the perfect cup of coffee and a welcoming experience with minimal friction.”

Philz Coffee claims to be the largest independent third-wave coffee brand in the US. The company has more than 70 stores across California and Chicago.
