Marfrig Global Foods has completed the sale of Keystone Foods to Tyson Foods for $2.16bn.
The acquisition includes eight plants and three innovation centres in Asian countries, as well as six food processing plants and an innovation centre in the US.
Keystone is a supplier of beef, chicken, fish, pork, chicken nuggets, wings and tenders, beef patties, and breaded fish fillets to foodservice companies and retail and convenience stores.
The transaction will allow Tyson Foods to expand its value-added protein capabilities.
The companies involved in the transaction are based in the US.
Inspire Brands has become the fifth biggest restaurant company in the US through the purchase of Sonic Drive-In, a drive-in fast-food restaurant chain.

The $2.3bn deal increased Inspire Brands’ network to approximately 8,300 restaurants.
Online food delivery service Bite Squad has agreed to be acquired by food delivery service Waitr for $321.3m.
Bite Squad provides services to 889,000 active diners and its distribution network comprises roughly 11,000 restaurants and 6,300 delivery staff.
The deal will increase Bite Squad’s reach in the US to 86 markets in 22 states, while driving additional growth for Waitr.
Waitr has entered an agreement to receive $42.1m of senior secured first priority term loans from Luxor Capital Group for Bite Squad’s acquisition, as well as for general corporate purposes.
Both companies involved in the transaction are based in the US.
North American airport restaurant company Hojeij Branded Foods (HBF) has been purchased by Lagardère Travel Retail for $330m.
The acquisition will generate up to $1.1bn in the North American travel retail and foodservice market.
The deal will add new retail spaces in airports to Lagardère’s network and strengthen its operations across all market segments in the US and Canada.
HBF operates 124 bars and restaurants in 38 airports in North America, while Lagardère operates an international network of travel retail stores in airports and stations worldwide.
UK-based education caterer Alliance in Partnership (AiP) has been acquired by French food services firm Sodexo.
Including The Contract Dining Company and Class Catering Services businesses, the AiP team has a client base of 418 schools.
Partners will develop new food concepts through the integration of their resources and expertise.
The acquisition will strengthen Sodexo’s private sector schools business.
