US Foods Holding has commenced an expansion of operations at its F. Christiana facility in Marrero, Louisiana.
The expansion will increase the facility to cover 200,000ft2 from the current 70,000ft2. The new facility will feature a kitchen, a training centre for customer product demonstrations and recipe innovation, and an interactive technology centre to offer information about web-based business solutions to US customers.
US Foods south region president Keith Knight said: “This is an important day for US Foods as we take the next step to expand our footprint in Louisiana and reaffirm our commitment to our customers and the community.
“We would like to thank Louisiana Economic Development, Jefferson Parish and JEDCO for their ongoing support through the many phases of this important investment.”
The plant is expected to be fully operational by late 2020 and will support the company to meet demands for additional products and services from restaurant and foodservice operators in the region.
It will also create additional distribution opportunities across key markets.
