US-based food management company Continental Services has completed the acquisition of foodservice company Sterling Services for an undisclosed financial value.
This deal marks the fifth acquisition for Continental during the past 18 months and is part of the company’s long-term growth and expansion objectives.
Based in Canton, Michigan, Sterling Services offers corporate dining, micro markets, vending and office coffee amenities.
The transaction expands Continental’s portfolio of dining, refreshment services and events brands.
Continental refreshment services group president Steve LaPorte said: “With its track record of innovation, consistent core values, an outstanding market reputation, and robust sales and service teams, Sterling Services is a great fit.
“Now that we are one company, the opportunities for delighting our guests are limitless.”
As part of the transaction, Sterling Services’ leadership team and employees will join Continental and the combined entity creates a large contract dining management company in Michigan.
A portfolio company of Boston-based private equity firm New Heritage Capital, Continental offers a range of custom dining, refreshment and event services, as well as on-site corporate cafés, grab-and-go micro markets and off-premise catering.
The company serves more than 1,000 signature clients, including small and medium-sized businesses, blue-chip corporations, colleges, medical centres, universities, and business and industrial sites.
