Postmates has added a feature to its on-demand food service platform that gives customers the option to avoid delivery charges.
Called Postmates Party, the new feature allows app users to share their delivery with other customers that are ordering at the same time.
The service is currently available in the US in Los Angeles, New York City, San Francisco, Miami, Chicago, Seattle, Las Vegas, Long Beach, Phoenix, San Diego, Orange County and Philadelphia.
To qualify for free delivery, customers open the Postmates app, visit the Postmates Party section and place an order from the listed restaurants.
Postmates CEO and co-founder Bastian Lehmann said: “We are driven by the vision of creating a logistics infrastructure that allows goods to move throughout a city at nearly zero cost to the consumer. Postmates Party is the latest innovation in on-demand delivery that will help us deliver on this vision.
“The new feature is a fun way to give customers the option to save money by ordering from popular restaurants that people all around them are ordering from in real time.”
