Food and drink travel operator SSP Group has received a €203m contract to open even food and beverage outlets at Alicante-Elche Airport in Spain.
As part of the contract, the company has partnered with British independent craft brewery BrewDog to open a bar in the departures area of the airport in June this year.
The group will also open outlets of various international brands and local concepts including Burger King, Häagen-Dazs ice cream shop, Tim Hortons, both airside and landside of the airport.
The opening of Häagen-Dazs ice cream shop marks the brands entry into Spain. SSP will open Tim Hortons restaurant in June followed by the opening a new outlet from Spanish charcuterie experts Enrique Tomas in November.
SSP Spain managing director Blanca Ripoll said: “We are delighted to have been awarded this new contract at Alicante-Elche, which reaffirms our position as a leading operator in the travel market in Spain.
“We look forward to opening with these new on-trend and exciting brands, which will no doubt provide a wide choice of food and drink options to our valued customers.”
