Sodexo has extended its catering contract with Birmingham Women’s and Children’s NHS Foundation Trust for five more years.
As part of the £11m contract, the foodservice firm will offer dining and retail services at the hospital.
The latest contract will also include the Parkview Clinic, a Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) inpatient facility.
The foodservice firm will open a new Crussh outlet along with a Conservatory Café capable of accommodating 120 guests. It will assign 50 employees to serve customers at the restaurant.
In addition, the company will offer a range of menu items with 95% of the food served to be cooked on site.
It will also conduct tasting sessions by children at the onsite school to receive feedback on menu design, as well as educate them on good nutrition.

By GlobalDataSodexo UK and Ireland healthcare CEO Stuart Winters said: “Extending our ten-year partnership with Birmingham Children’s Hospital was a clear opportunity to review and overhaul patient dining and retail provision.
“Our new menus will offer improved and tailored choices with a clear focus on fresh food and locally sourced produce.
“These have been designed to ensure that we give the right nutrition to children and young people to help them heal and recover, and play a part in the Children’s Hospital staff continuing to deliver the best possible care.”
Earlier this month, Sodexo introduced a new restaurant, Kitchen Works Co, to serve employees in manufacturing and data centre environments.
