US-based franchise company Smoothie King has added whole organic spinach to its menu as part of its ‘Cleaner Blending’ initiative.
The smoothie company will use organic spinach in two of its new Smoothie King blends, the Vegan Pineapple Spinach Smoothie and the Veggie Lemon Ginger Spinach Smoothie.
The new smoothies are intended to help guests enjoy the benefits of a plant-based diet and guests can also choose to add spinach to any other smoothie.
Smoothie King food scientist Mitchell Grittman said: “Our new veggie smoothies are packed with fiber, potassium, vitamin A and vitamin C, making them nutritious additions to our Cleaner Blending menu.
“Not only will these smoothies help guests fill the ‘whole’ in their diets, they also stay true to our promise to create better-for-you blends with quality ingredients.”
Promoting healthy and active lifestyles, Smoothie King’s Cleaner Blending initiative focuses on discouraging the use of added sugar, artificial flavours, colours and preservatives, added hormones in dairy, and GMO fruits and veggies.
