Racing Optics has launched RealShield, an affordable face covering, to help restaurants to comply with new health protocols released by the County of Los Angeles Department of Public Health in the US.
The protocol for restaurants opening for onsite dining instructs staff and other employees to wear face shields when servicing customers.
Racing Optics has launched the new product in response to the protocols with a durable, shatterproof design.
Made with LEXAN material, the face shields are reusable and easy to clean.
It also adds UV protection and fits on most hats and visors, the company noted.
The Iowa City VA Health Care System Department of Internal Medicine experts say that face shields offer better protection than masks.

The company noted that the popularity of lightweight face shields has spiked in Los Angeles where there are over 72,000 restaurants with more than one million employees.
Restaurants and other businesses are advised to provide their workers with face shields to ensure their safety and wellbeing.
