Fast food restaurant chain McDonald’s has announced its plans to re-open 11 Roadchef service station restaurants for walk-in customers in the UK from 17 June.
The restaurants will be open for takeaway for motorway users and click-and-collect orders.
McDonald’s will introduce the new service at high street, town and city centre restaurants in the UK and Ireland from 24 June.
Only a limited number of customers will be allowed for a walk-in at any time, while its seating areas, toilets and lifts will be closed.
McDonald’s plans to reintroduce breakfast in the menu at some of the restaurants from 24 June.
Last month, the chain re-opened its stores with a restricted menu due to low staff count and social distancing requirements in kitchens.

By GlobalDataMeanwhile, McDonald’s has announced changes to its marketing team, following the resignation of its global marketing senior vice-president Colin Mitchell.
It has promoted 15-year veteran Alistair Macrow as the new senior vice-president of global marketing.
Alistair will take over Colin’s responsibilities for Global Menu Strategy, Global Brand, Global Insights, Family and Global Marketing Enablement.
Given that the US business is critical for the restaurant chain, Alistair will work closely with Morgan Flatley, senior vice-president and US chief marketing and digital customer experience officer.
Announcing the changes via an open letter to employees, McDonald’s president and CEO Chris Kempczinski said: “As we emerge from this global pandemic, consumers’ trust in the McDonald’s brand and compelling marketing programmes in every country where we operate will be critical to re-establish the strong business momentum we enjoyed leading into this crisis.
“I am confident Alistair and Morgan can lead McDonald’s to even greater heights following this crisis.”
