US-based hamburger chain White Castle has partnered with global retailer Walmart to expand the distribution of its menu item, the six-pack White Castle cheeseburger sliders, across Canada.

The cheeseburger sliders will be available in the frozen food aisles of 400 Walmart locations across the country.

White Castle vice-president Jamie Richardson said: “We’re very excited to partner with Walmart and offer our delicious cheeseburger sliders to Walmart customers from coast-to-coast.

“In our continued pursuit to meet the needs of our customers wherever they are, this expansion will bring White Castle’s 97 years of slider expertise to more Canadian families.”

“The sliders menu items include The Original Slider, Cheese Slider, Double Cheese Slider, Jalapeno Cheese Slider, Veggie Slider and Fish Slider.”

The hamburger chain started offering its menu for sale at Canadian convenience stores in 2015 and the current partnership with Walmart will allow the restaurant to access 1.2 million retail consumers.

Established in 1921, White Castle currently operates 400 family-owned restaurants in 13 US states offering a menu of hamburgers, sliders, breakfast and desserts along with sides and drinks.
