Japanese coffeehouse chain % Arabica has reportedly partnered with SOHO Middle East to expand its European footprint in 2024, according to a report by the World Coffee Portal.
As per the agreement, the chain plans to open its locations across France, Germany, Portugal and Greece.
The first SOHO-operated stores are planned to open next year.
Over the next few years, the coffee chain reportedly plans to expand its international presence from 19 to 39 countries by signing master franchise agreements.
Currently, % Arabica operates four stores in Europe, all of which are located in the UK. It is also said to be entering the Hungary, Spain and Turkish markets.
The company operates 155 outlets worldwide, of which more than 50% are said to be located in the Chinese market.

By GlobalDataOn its official Instagram account, % Arabica wrote: “Our dream is to have stores in amazing locations worldwide, collaborating with talented architects and interior designers to create remarkable store designs.
“We carefully source, store, roast and train our baristas to extract the finest espresso and brew pour-overs. Currently, we operate 155 stores in 19 countries and with this new agreement, our contracted countries have expanded to 39.”
The Japanese coffee chain also plans to expand its presence in the Netherlands and is exploring options in other markets such as Italy, India and Myanmar.
It has also signed a master franchise agreement in Nepal and plans to open outlets in Kathmandu, Pokhara and Namche Bazaar.
The Japanese coffeehouse chain also aims to open a kiosk at the Everest Base Camp.
