US-based ube dessert parlour and bakery Café 86 has expanded its footprint in California by adding two new franchise locations in Temple City and Elk Grove.

Café 86 is known for offering ube-focused milkshakes, milk tea, truffles, cupcakes, cheesecakes and espresso drinks.

It was founded in 2014 by James Dimapasok and his wife, Ginger Dimapasok, in Chino, California.

The brand has added new franchisees Noel and Grace Reyes in Temple City and the Alhambra area to its network of franchisees. It has also added Maria Linsangan and Joshua Francisco in Elk Grove.

With these new additions, Café 86 is said to be on track to become a ‘strong player in the dessert space’.

In May, Café 86 added franchisees Lorna Lam for Burbank and Christine Evangelista and Ashley Danielle for the Eagle Rock area.

Café 86 co-founder James Dimapasok said: “I’m so thrilled that I got to meet all of our newest franchisees and develop friendships with every single one. I think we have been really blessed to have had these types of people join our growing franchise partners. We hope everyone will be the same.

“We are more than ecstatic to see how fast the growth is. In just two months since getting our FDD licence, we have signed three locations.

“Ginger and I are thrilled and very much appreciate all the support the community has given us all these years. I am very excited for our new partners to entrench themselves in their respective communities.”

James Dimapasok added that the company has an additional ten prospective buyers, with more expected to close within August.
