American fast-casual restaurant chain Chipotle Mexican Grill has launched a new branch in Guildford, Surrey, UK, on 21 July, SurreyLive reported.

This restaurant is located in White Lion Walk Shopping Centre in Guildford.

The latest move is in line with the restaurant group’s plans to expand in the country, where it, already has 15 outlets including in the Greater London area.

The new outlet will be the brand’s first location in Surrey.

Chipotle European operations director Jacob Sumner was quoted as saying by the news publication: “Given the rising popularity of Chipotle across nearby London, our expansion in the UK remains a top priority for our international strategy. This new location will increase the Guildford community’s access to real, fresh food.”

Its menu includes burritos, tacos, quesadillas, salads and ‘lifestyle bowls’. It is further claimed that the restaurant group has no freezers at its sites and serves fresh food that is cooked daily.

At the Guildford site, the menu will include the item Chicken Al Pastor for a limited period.

Customers can order in-store, use the Chipotle mobile app for pick-up, or place the order using services such as Just Eat, Deliveroo or Uber Eats.

Recently, the restaurant entered an agreement with franchise retail operator Alshaya Group to launch restaurants in the Middle East, starting with new sites in Kuwait and Dubai early next year.

The group also plans further expansion in other Middle East markets eventually.
