US-based restaurant software company Toast has announced the launch of the Toast Catering & Events platform to help restaurants streamline event management and enhance their guests’ experience.
The new platform will completely integrate with the Toast point-of-sale (POS), allowing restaurants to seamlessly manage large catering orders and event planning.
The company noted that the end-to-end solution will optimise the lengthy event planning and execution process, as well as improve the experience for operators.
The platform supports customisable banquet event orders (BEO), fulfilment tools and lead management functionality.
Toast co-founder and COO Aman Narang said: “As restaurants look to diversify revenue streams, catering and events are top of mind as attractive growth areas.
“However, an additional service model can mean taking on managing multiple systems that often operate in silos. With Toast Catering & Events, we brought the entire catering and event order management lifecycle — from invoicing to inventory management and accounting — into the Toast platform.

By GlobalData“By fully integrating the solution into our platform, restaurant owners and operators can not only save time but also better position themselves to build a successful, smoothly operating business.”
The company added that Toast Catering & Events has been designed to integrate with Toast Invoicing, a digital invoicing tool launched by the company in October 2022.
The new platform also allows restaurants to customise for every occasion; manage everything in a single location; easily access transparent pricing and estimates; and boost the efficiency levels of the restaurant.
Companies such as Elicit Brewing restaurant and catering company have already integrated Toast’s new platform into their operating systems.
Elicit Brewing private event sales director Emily Sands said: “Toast Catering & Events has integrated our events into our POS seamlessly and even prints the prep tickets at a scheduled time, so it is very ‘hands-off’.
“My favourite piece of the system so far is the integration with my calendar. It makes it easy to keep my staff in the loop on what’s going on and what’s coming soon.”
