Global fast casual chain KFC is set to expand its menu with the launch of a pickle fried chicken burger for a limited time in the US.
The new burger is a blend of the company’s Extra Crispy Chicken coated with pickle sauce, which includes dill, vinegar, onion and garlic notes, buttermilk, and a white and black pepper blend.
This launch marks the first pickle-flavoured fried chicken product in the quick-service restaurant industry in the US.
Starting on 25 June this year, pickle fried chicken will be available in four variants including Crispy Colonel Sandwich, Extra Crispy Tenders, Chicken Littles and Extra Crispy in participating US restaurants.
KFC US CMO Andrea Zahumensky said: “People are crazy about pickles, and pickle-flavoured products are becoming today’s trendiest menu item.
“Pickles and fried chicken are a match made in heaven, with tastemakers everywhere pairing these flavours.
