UK-based foodservice company SSP Group has announced a significant extension of its partnership with Liverpool John Lennon Airport (LJLA), set to continue until at least 2036.
The deal includes a refurbishment of existing units, rebranding, extensions and the introduction of new outlets to cater to the growing number of passengers.
LJLA commercial director Lucy O’Shaughnessy said: “We’re delighted to be extending our partnership with SSP which has been key to the airport offering a great airport experience for our passengers.
“This investment will give the growing numbers of passengers choosing to fly from the region’s faster, easier, friendlier airport a wider choice of food and beverage facilities and some really exciting new developments that we’re sure will prove popular with our passengers.”
The expansion aligns with Liverpool John Lennon Airport’s strategy to accommodate increasing passenger traffic.
As part of the initial development phase, SSP will launch the Sable & Co Bar and Kitchen, a high-end eatery located on the mezzanine level after World Duty Free. Its opening is scheduled for spring 2024.
