Restaurant technology provider Olo has expanded its partnership with TRAY to integrate Olo Pay card-present payment processing with TRAY’s point of sale (POS) system.
This move is part of a larger integration with the Olo Engage product suite, designed to offer restaurants digitally personalised experiences for their guests.
The expanded partnership will enable automated menu synchronisation through Olo Order integration, streamlining operations for restaurant owners.
The partnership will now include Olo Order integration for automated menu synchronisation, simplifying the process for restaurants to keep their digital and physical menus updated.
TRAY will also implement the Olo Order Ready AI, a machine-learning tool that predicts when orders will be ready, enhancing accuracy for guests and delivery providers.
The integration of Olo Pay with TRAY for card-present transactions is set to digitise on-premise payments, addressing common operational challenges such as reconciliation and refunds.

By GlobalDataThe development is expected to offer guests a straightforward payment process across touchpoints including personal devices, kiosks, mobile wallets, and credit card payments at the table or through the POS for full-service dining.
The Engage integration will enable restaurant brands using TRAY to consolidate digital and in-person interactions into a single guest profile, unlocking insights into customer behaviour and preferences.
Olo founder and CEO Noah Glass said: “The significance of this collaboration in light of current trends. Despite the industry’s gradual shift towards digital, a staggering 84% of restaurant transactions remain offline with card swipes on a POS.
“The partnership between Olo and TRAY aims to bridge this gap by empowering more restaurants with the tools needed to not only increase orders and streamline operations but also to craft hyper-personalised experiences for every guest.”
In addition to the Pay and Engage integrations, TRAY will now be able to synchronise menu data with Olo Ordering by pushing POS data directly from TRAY’s menu management system into Olo’s menu management application programming interface (API)..
TRAY is also set to integrate with Olo’s Order Ready AI API, which will use data from the TRAY system to inform when an order is completed.
The new Olo integrations with TRAY are scheduled to become available in 2024.
