Rita’s Italian Ice & Frozen Custard has announced the opening of a new franchise in Arlington, Texas, US – a significant step in the brand’s expansion in the state.
The new store is operated by local franchisees Jasmine and Darryl Ward, joining a growing network of franchise owners in the Dallas area.

The Wards have a background in public health and education. They were first introduced to Rita’s through Jasmine’s college roommates.
Jasmine Ward said: “Darryl and I are excited to have the opportunity to build a legacy for our family with Rita’s Italian Ice & Frozen Custard here in Arlington.
“We are passionate about providing an opportunity for the young people in our community, from partnering with local schools to teaching our employees skills that they can carry with them into the future.”

The Wards join existing franchisees such as Sean Evans, Jerry Shirer, Von Shirer and Dave Lewis in the Dallas-Fort Worth area.
Dave Lewis is the owner of Rita’s Italian Ice & Frozen Custard in Bedford, Texas – the first Rita’s location in the state.

The menu features Frozen Custard, Gelati, Concretes and Frozen Coffee. The company is actively seeking additional franchisees to continue its growth throughout Texas and the South.
In April 2024, Rita’s Italian Ice & Frozen Custard collaborated with the cookie brand Oreo to expand its cold brew frozen coffee offerings, demonstrating the brand’s commitment to innovation and partnership.
