Indian food delivery company Zomato has relaunched its Legends intercity service, which allows customers to order dishes from different restaurants across select cities.
The revamped service now requires customers to place an order with a minimum value of Rs5,000 ($59.9), The Economic Times (ET) has reported.
It permits the combination of dishes from several eateries in a single order.
Zomato has shifted back to direct deliveries from restaurants, moving away from its earlier model of supplying pre-stocked food items.
The service is currently available across Indian cities such as Delhi-NCR (National Capital Region) and Bengaluru, with plans for further expansion.
Legends was initially launched in 2022 but underwent a model change to offer pre-stocked items with faster delivery times.

By GlobalDataA Zomato executive informed the ET that next-day deliveries were not meeting immediate customer needs.
In April 2024, Zomato suspended its intercity delivery service due to low consumer interest and legal challenges.
A case is pending in New Delhi in which a customer contests Zomato’s claim of delivering food from renowned but distant restaurants, alleging that deliveries were in fact made from local warehouses.
Zomato has also halted its “Xtreme” hyperlocal goods delivery service, which was introduced in October 2023 to transform the intra-city delivery market.
Despite leveraging Zomato’s extensive delivery network across between 750 and 800 cities, Xtreme did not achieve the anticipated market response and has since been removed from the Google Play Store.
A Zomato executive, when asked for comment, stated: “It was an experiment.
“Many restaurants wanted a similar quality of experience for direct deliveries. That was the basis on which Xtreme was rolled out. But it was always an experiment and could have swung either way,”
The company has yet to make an official statement regarding the discontinuation of Xtreme or the relaunch of Legends.
