UK-based sustainable restaurant group Lussmanns is set to open a new restaurant in London after a two-decades-long hiatus, marking a significant expansion.
Lussmanns was established by Andrei Lussmann in North Kensington in 2002 and moved to Hertfordshire in 2004, where it successfully launched five locations.
The seafood and grill restaurant group has now acquired the former Côte site on Highgate High Street and plans to open it in August 2024.
The Highgate High Street site, which can accommodate up to 130 guests, will mark the first Lussmanns restaurant in London in 20 years.
The new Highgate establishment will feature a café at the front, offering spritzers, coffees and selections from the main menu.
The restaurant group also plans to provide salads, sandwiches and beverages for takeaway shortly.

Hospitality & Catering News quoted Lussmann: “Opening a restaurant in London feels like we are coming home, as that’s where it all started for Lussmanns in North Kensington in 2002.
“We cannot wait to open our doors in historic and beautiful Highgate Village and welcome customers to come and enjoy the finest ingredients sourced from farmers, fishers and producers all practising the highest standards – and at affordable prices.”
Planning further expansion, Lussmanns has taken over the premises of the former Loch Fyne restaurant, located in a Grade II-listed building on the Woburn Estate in Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire, to open its seventh location in October 2024.
The restaurant group currently operates five restaurants in Hertford, St Albans, Hitchin, Harpenden and Berkhamsted.
