Gino’s East of Chicago, a US-based restaurant chain known for its deep-dish pizza, has unveiled a new pizza variant named the “Crackerjack” in Los Angeles.
The limited-edition pizza is launched in celebration of National Pizza Month, October 2024.
The Crackerjack is a combination of deep dish or tavern-style thin crust pizza, topped with hot pepper jack and mozzarella cheese, spicy pepperoni, candied bacon and Calabrian chili oil.
The creation of Crackerjack is attributed to Gino’s East co-owner Tod Himmel.
Himmel said: “I love making pizzas that combine unique and unexpected flavours. In this case, I wanted to pair a little bit of heat and a little bit of sweet.
“Just as the spicy from the pepper jack, pepperoni and chili hit your taste buds, the sweet crunch of the bacon brings you back.”
