Taiwanese restaurant chain Din Tai Fung is set to open a new location in Canary Wharf, marking its fourth UK establishment and its first venture into East London.
The new site, scheduled to open in early 2025 at Crossrail Place, continues the brand’s expansion in the UK, following six successful years and building upon a sixty-six-year global heritage.
The upcoming Canary Wharf location will feature 112 seats and a private dining room for 16, catering to a diverse clientele including families, culture enthusiasts, office workers and local residents.
Din Tai Fung is renowned for its Chinese cuisine, particularly its signature Xiao Long Bao (Steamed Pork Soup Dumplings), and the new site will offer private dining experiences and masterclasses that connect guests with the brand’s rich heritage.
The restaurant’s design will reflect a fusion of heritage and modernity, with traditional Chinese motifs and architectural elements such as stone lions and terracotta roof tiles set against polished marble and rattan-wrapped walls.
The Show Kitchen, an iconic centrepiece of Din Tai Fung, will allow guests to observe the intricate preparation of the Xiao Long Bao, each meticulously handcrafted with exactly 18 folds.
