US-based drive-through beverage company Dutch Bros Coffee has announced the appointment of Venki Krishnababu as its new chief technology and information officer.

Krishnababu, with almost three decades of experience in leading transformational strategies, is tasked to steer the company’s technological advancements and innovation.

He officially took on the role on 16 December 2024.

His expertise is expected to complement Dutch Bros’ growth and customer engagement initiatives.

Dutch Bros CEO and president Christine Barone said: “Venki has deep experience leading technology strategies across multiple functions, including data and analytics, cybersecurity and digital transformations.

“Above all, though, Venki is known for his people-centric leadership, which aligns perfectly with Dutch Bros culture. His leadership will be key as we continue to invest in technology to enhance our customer experience.”

Krishnababu previously spent seven years at Lululemon Athletica, where he served as chief technology officer.

His career also includes a stint as chief technology officer at Premera Blue Cross and 16 years in leadership roles at Nordstrom.

Dutch Bros, founded in 1992 by brothers Dane and Travis Boersma, began with a double-head espresso machine and a pushcart in Grants Pass, Oregon.

It has since expanded its offerings beyond espresso-based beverages to a wide range of customisable cold and hot drinks.

The brand now operates in more than 950 locations across 18 US states.
