Curefoods has acquired the south and west India operations of the doughnut and coffee brand Krispy Kreme, from Landmark Group, ETHospitalityWorld reports.

Through this deal, the company intends to bolster its portfolio and presence in the food service market in India.

Krispy Kreme’s presence in south India was marked by nearly 50 points of access, a network that Curefoods is now set to leverage for growth.

Under the deal, Landmark Hospitality Services is acquiring certain stakes in Curefoods India.

Furthermore, Curefoods entered into a multi-year franchising agreement with Krispy Kreme Doughnut for the development of more than 350 additional points of access in the country within the next five years.

Curefoods founder Ankit Nagori said: “We are thrilled to bring Krispy Kreme into Curefoods. The brand’s global legacy and strong consumer appeal align perfectly with our vision of offering diverse, high-quality food experiences.

“This partnership underscores our commitment to expanding into categories beyond our cloud kitchen ecosystem, and investing in well-loved brands to enhance our presence in India’s food market.”

Metta Capital served as advisor to Landmark Group throughout the transaction process.

The integration of Krispy Kreme into Curefoods’ operations is expected to extend the doughnut brand’s reach across new regions in India, leveraging the latter’s supply chain along with operational efficiencies.

Founded in 2020, Curefoods has a variety of brands under its umbrella, including Sharief Bhai, EatFit, Nomad Pizza, and Olio Pizza.

In August 2024, Curefoods’ Olio Pizza announced plans to expand to 500 locations through its cloud kitchens and outlets, aiming to establish itself as a Rs5bn ($58.2m) brand with a presence in 60-70 cities across India by 2026-end, Nagori told ETRetail.
