Shawarma franchise Shawarma Press has opened its eighth location in the US state of Texas with a new restaurant in Denton in the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex area.
The new establishment at 2317 W University Drive will bring the brand’s Mediterranean cuisine to the area. The Denton store is owned by Khader Faouri.
Faouri said: “We’re excited to bring the best Shawarma and authentic Mediterranean menu items to the Denton community.
“We look forward to treating customers to our hand-stacked premium chicken and beef Shawarma in a variety of wraps and bowls, along with homemade favourites such as falafel, hummus and pastries.”
Since launching the nation’s first authentic Shawarma franchise in Irving in 2017, Shawarma Press has seen significant growth across Texas with outlets opening in Arlington, Frisco, Georgetown, Plano and San Antonio.
The brand has a flagship restaurant in the Dallas Arts District and extended its reach beyond Texas with to the Atlanta, Georgia community of Johns Creek in November 2023.

Shawarma Press’ co-founder and CEO Sawsan Abublan revealed that additional locations are currently under development.

The menu at Shawarma Press features innovative Mediterranean dishes including chicken and premium beef Shawarma wraps, homemade falafel, hummus, fresh soups, salads, bowls and pastries.
Freshly made hummus and wraps such as Chicken Shawarma, Tandori Press and the original spicy Tex-Mex Press have proved customer favourites.
The brand offers dine-in or takeaway through the Shawarma Press app.
