US fast-food restaurant chain Chick-fil-A is set to open its inaugural location in Northern Ireland in January 2025.
The restaurant chain has collaborated with Applegreen Northern Ireland for this expansion.
The first restaurant will be launched at Applegreen’s Lisburn South motorway service area on the M1, with a second outlet scheduled to open at Applegreen Templepatrick on the M2 in March.
The new ventures will create 70 jobs and increase Applegreen’s total employment in Northern Ireland to 351 positions.
Applegreen already has a partnership with Chick-fil-A in the US, where it operates 14 restaurants within its motorway service areas.
Applegreen regional operations director Caroline Cherington said: “We are delighted to be bringing Chick-fil-A to Northern Ireland with this new partnership agreement.

By GlobalData“Having successfully operated Chick-fil-A restaurants in the United States for several years, we know how much customers love their high-quality food, and we’re excited to introduce this brand to a new audience.”
As the third-largest quick-service restaurant company by sales volume in the US, Chick-fil-A runs more than 3,000 outlets across the US, Puerto Rico and Canada.
The launch of the new sites follows upgrades to the Applegreen service areas at Lisburn South and Templepatrick, which recently included new M&S Food stores.
Applegreen currently manages five locations in Northern Ireland, with the two largest situated near Lisburn on either side of the M1 motorway.
Additional sites are located in Templepatrick, Ballymena and Hillsborough.
In early January 2025, Chick-fil-A made new additions to its menu to “brighten up” the start of the year.
The company brought back the Grilled Spicy Deluxe Sandwich and paired it with a Cilantro Lime Sauce. It also introduced fruity Key Lime seasonal beverages for a limited time.
