Bad Ass Coffee of Hawaii, which offers Hawaiian coffees, is set to expand its presence significantly in 2025 with 23 new store openings, including six in the first six weeks of the year.

This follows a “transformative” 2024, which saw the brand surpass its store growth forecasts and achieve its most successful franchise sales year to date.

In 2024, Bad Ass Coffee signed 13 multi-unit development agreements and ended the year with a total of 44 units.

2024 also marked significant investments in innovation and franchisee support.

This included enhanced technology and operations through a fully deployed back-office system designed to optimise store management.

A national real estate partnership was established to accelerate the acquisition of new store sites, and the operations team was expanded to support the 23 store openings planned for 2025.

Bad Ass Coffee of Hawaii CEO Scott Snyder said: “Our commitment to be a franchisee-first organisation has been the cornerstone of our growth since day one.”

“2024 was a year of firsts for the company and also saw the completion of infrastructure milestones that we began four years ago to set the stage for massive growth in the year ahead and beyond. We’re very excited about 2025 and believe that it will further solidify our brand as a leader in the QSR franchise coffee landscape.”

Key initiatives for 2025 comprise the One Brand, One Voice, One Team strategy, refining the brand’s message and enhancing customer experience at store level.

This will involve investing in field operations and marketing teams dedicated to partnering with franchisees to boost sales through enhanced service and community involvement.

Under the customer-centric technology upgrades initiative, Bad Ass Coffee is partnering with Paytronix, a guest engagement platform, to launch an upgraded loyalty and online ordering system to offer customers a seamless digital experience.

The brand emphasises profitability and support for its franchisees through its enhanced franchisee support programme. This includes expanded training and scaling up the use of a new back-office platform that provides data for informed decision-making.

Bad Ass provides development support, including assistance with territory identification, financing, real estate and construction management.

It provides coffee from regions such as Kona, Kauai and Maui, as well as a menu of beverages and foods with a Hawaiian twist.

In October 2024, Bad Ass secured a deal to open three new stores in the US state of South Carolina, beginning in Rock Hill by mid-2025 and then followed by two locations in York County.
