American restaurant chain Pollo Campero has opened a new location in New York City’s Penn Station.
The Penn Station outlet is Pollo Campero’s 122nd US location and its sixth in Manhattan.
The expansion follows the company’s milestone of reaching 100 restaurants and more than 125 locations in the US in 2024.
The new restaurant is located in the Long Island Railroad (LIRR) concourse and includes features aimed at serving commuters efficiently.
It offers a mobile order pickup station with secure lockers, self-service kiosks and a modern dining space. The new outlet also offers catering options.
Pollo Campero USA managing director Luis Javier Rodas stated: “We continue to grow and bring our signature flavours closer to thousands of loyal customers who love the brand, and do so in a way that meets them where they are.
“This new restaurant allows us to keep sharing our passion for what makes Pollo Campero unique. In 2025, we will maintain our pace of expansion across the US.”
Offering individual and family meal options, the menu includes fried and grilled chicken, chicken sandwiches, empanadas, salads, bowls and sides such as sweet plantains and yuca fries.
In May 2024, Pollo Campero expanded its menu with two new chicken sandwiches in the US.
Pollo Campero is part of Corporación Multi Inversiones (CMI), a company that operates more than 350 restaurants worldwide.
Founded in Guatemala in 1971, the brand later expanded to the US, Mexico, Honduras and Ecuador and currently employs more than 8,000 people.
CMI Foods global CEO José Gregorio Baquero said: “Every achievement and milestone reached in our expansion plan, both in Manhattan and other markets, allows us to uphold and expand the family legacy of CMI — a legacy that transcends generations and was born from our founder, Don Juan Bautista Gutiérrez.
“Pollo Campero’s growth in the US reflects our commitment to creating life-changing opportunities and delivering exceptional flavours and experiences to families worldwide. And what better place to showcase that than the historic Penn Station?”
The quick-service restaurant aims to have 250 locations in the US by 2027.
