US fast-casual franchise concept Freddy’s Frozen Custard and Steakburgers has expanded its menu with new items and brought back previous limited-time offerings (LTOs).

These permanent additions to the menu are in response to guest feedback.

The new additions are the Cold Brew Caramel Crunch, the Reese’s Royale, the OREO Double Trouble, Strawberry Dreamcake and Freddy’s Kettle Chips.

Cold Brew Caramel Crunch is a combination of vanilla custard, cold brew coffee, chopped Heath toffee bar and caramel sauce, available as either a shake or a concrete [a thick shake that does not spill when up-ended]. Reese’s Royale is a blend of vanilla custard with Reese’s Peanut Butter Sauce and Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups, topped with a cherry and whipped cream.

OREO Double Trouble is creamy vanilla custard combined with a double serving of OREO cookies and finished with whipped cream and a sprinkle of additional OREO crumbs. Strawberry Dreamcake is vanilla custard layered with diced strawberries, cinnamon streusel and New York-style cheesecake then topped with whipped cream and crunchy streusel.

Freddy’s Kettle Chips are seasoned with Freddy’s Fry Seasoning.

Among the returning items on the menu are the Grilled Cheese Steakburger and the Prime Rib Steakburger – two of the chain’s best-performing limited-time burger offers.

The Grilled Cheese Steakburger combines steakburger patties with American and Swiss cheese, Texas toast, bacon and a tomato spread, while the Prime Rib Steakburger features prime rib, Swiss cheese, grilled onions and sautéed portobello mushrooms on a toasted bun with garlic aioli.

The two burgers have been added to the permanent lineup in response to customer preferences, and aim to increase traffic and transaction values for franchisees.

Other returning menu items are Tots [grated potato formed into small cylindrical shapes and deep-fried], Lemon Cream Frost, Orange Cream Frost and Peanut Butter Bananza.

Tots are pre-seasoned with Freddy’s Fry Seasoning and available in various sizes.

Lemon Cream Frost is lemonade blended with vanilla frozen custard and finished with whipped cream, while Orange Cream Frost tops the lemonade and frozen custard with orange cream powder and whipped cream.

The Peanut Butter Bananza, previously known as PBC&B, is vanilla custard paired with Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups and fresh bananas, topped with whipped cream and a cherry.

Freddy’s CMO Erin Walter said: “These menu additions reflect our commitment to innovation and meeting the evolving tastes of our guests.

“By making these fan-favourites permanent fixtures on our menu, we’re ensuring that our guests can enjoy their preferred items year-round while also providing our franchisees with exciting new offerings to drive sales and guest loyalty.”

In January 2025, Freddy’s Frozen Custard & Steakburgers announced plans to expand its franchise with 15 new locations across markets in Nebraska, North Dakota and Maryland.
