Fast-casual restaurant chain Corner Bakery Café has announced the completion of renovations at seven of its locations in California, US to enhance the dining experience for guests.
The restaurant brand was bought from bankruptcy by multi-brand franchisee SSCP Management in June 2023, and since then, more than $6.2m has been invested into the business.
The latest remodels, finalised between October 2024 and January 2025, feature updated seating, flooring, paint, décor, beverage counters, awnings and patio furniture.
The brand has also invested in self-ordering kiosks.
Corner Bakery CEO Chris Dharod stated: “These renovations and new openings reflect our commitment to growth while staying true to what makes Corner Bakery special.”
Corner Bakery offers Cinnamon Creme Cake, soups, salad and sandwiches for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
The modernisation drive is set to continue, with plans to invest a further $500,000 in the first half of 2025 for additional renovations, particularly in Illinois and Pennsylvania – part of a larger initiative to modernise all locations by 2027.
Corner Bakery is not only revamping existing sites but also expanding its national presence with new corporate café investments.
Following the openings at Union Station in Chicago and Capital Hill in Washington DC in July 2024, the brand looks forward to the re-opening of the Accenture Tower location in Chicago on 24 March 2025. These new cafés represent an investment exceeding $1m.
Another new Irvine, California location is set for a launch in May 2025.
A new franchise café also opened in El Paso, Texas, in February 2025, managed by Bakery Ventures and franchise owner Tyson Duncan.
This establishment is the fifth Corner Bakery Café in El Paso and the sixth for Bakery Ventures.
Duncan stated: “Corner Bakery has always been a place where guests can enjoy fresh, handcrafted meals in a welcoming environment.”
“Our investment will ensure we can provide more of what guests have come to love in our community with the addition of this new location.”
Corner Bakery is seeking prospective franchisees to join its network, as part of its expansion and revitalisation plans.
