IT jobs accounted for a 0.6% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in November 2022, registering a decrease of 0.01% over the last three-month average share.
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in November 2022
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in North America with a share of 42.08% in November 2022, a 43.42% rise over the previous month. Database and Network Administrators and Architects came in next, claiming a share of 28.57% in November 2022, marking a 57.47% month-on-month decline. In the third place was Miscellaneous Computer Occupations with a share of 13.13% in November 2022, a 17.24% rise from October 2022.

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average decline of 22.95% in the overall IT recruitment activity of North America’s food service industry during November 2022 over previous month.
Meyer Jabara Hotels posted 81 IT jobs in November 2022 and registered an increase of 8000% over the previous month, followed by Aimbridge Hospitality with 20 jobs and an 83.61% drop. AmRest Holdings with 15 IT jobs and University of Texas at Austin Division of Housing and Food Service with 13 jobs, recorded a 42.31% drop and a 43.48% drop, respectively, while HEI Hotels and Resorts recorded a 9.09% increase with 12 job postings during November 2022.
Country-wise composition of IT hiring in North America’s food service industry
The US commanded a leading presence in the region’s food service industry IT hiring activity with an 80.31% share in November 2022, a 37.35% decrease over October 2022. Canada featured next with a 19.31% share, up 1566.67% over the previous month. Mexico recorded a 0.39% share, a flat growth compared with October 2022.
Junior Level job postings dominate in November 2022
Junior Level jobs held a share of 65.25%, down by 38.99% from October 2022. Entry Level positions with a 17.37% share, registered a growth of 95.65% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Mid Level job ads with 16.99% share, up 22.22% over October 2022, while Senior postings accounted for 0.39%, recording a month-on-month flat growth.
