IT jobs accounted for a 0.58% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in October 2022, registering a decrease of 0.11% over the last three-month average share.
Database and Network Administrators and Architects Occupations leads by classification in October 2022
Database and Network Administrators and Architects Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in North America with a share of 44.69% in October 2022, a 17.57% drop over the previous month. Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers came in next, claiming a share of 26.37% in October 2022, marking a 17.24% month-on-month decline. In the third place was Computer and Information Analysts with a share of 12.45% in October 2022, a 17.07% drop from September 2022.

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average growth of 1.82% in the overall IT recruitment activity of North America’s food service industry during October 2022 over previous month.
Aimbridge Hospitality posted 74 IT jobs in October 2022 and registered a decline of 3.9% over the previous month, followed by AmRest Holdings with 26 jobs and a 3.7% drop. Starbucks with 25 IT jobs and University of Texas at Austin Division of Housing and Food Service with 23 jobs, recorded a 10.71% drop and a 15% rise, respectively, while McDonald’s recorded a 53.85% increase with 20 job postings during October 2022.
Country-wise composition of IT hiring in North America’s food service industry
The US commanded a leading presence in the region’s food service industry IT hiring activity with a 98.53% share in October 2022, a 63.35% decrease over September 2022. Canada featured next with a 1.1% share, down 70% over the previous month. Mexico recorded a 0.37% share, a flat growth compared with September 2022.
Junior Level job postings dominate in October 2022
Junior Level jobs held a share of 78.75%, down by 66.82% from September 2022. Mid Level positions with a 12.82% share, registered a decline of 12.5% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with an 8.42% share, down 59.65% over September 2022.
