Food Preparation Workers, with a share of 10%, emerged as the top social responsibility-related job roles within the foodservice industry in Q3 2022, with new job postings rising by 829% quarter-on-quarter. Supervisors of Food Preparation and Serving Workers came in second with a share of 8% in Q3 2022, with new job postings rising by 94% over the previous quarter.

The other prominent social responsibility roles include Foodservice Managers with a 7% share in Q3 2022, Cooks with a 7% share of new job postings.

Top five companies in foodservice industry accounted for 190% of hiring activity

The top companies, in terms of number of new job postings tracked by GlobalData, as of Q3 2022 were Compass Group, McDonald's, Denny's and Sodexo. Together they accounted for a combined share of 190% of all social responsibility-related active jobs in the foodservice industry.

Compass Group posted 6,658 social responsibility-related new jobs in Q3 2022, McDonald's 1,855 jobs, Denny's 1,667 jobs, and Sodexo 1,648 jobs, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics.

Hiring activity was driven by the US with a 67% share of total active job postings, Q3 2022

The largest share of social responsibility-related new job postings in the foodservice industry in Q3 2022 was in the US with 67% followed by the UK (20%) and Canada (8%). The share represented by the US was seven percentage points higher than the 60% share it accounted for in Q2 2022.
