Coffee franchise Bad Ass Coffee of Hawaii has appointed Iain Douglas as its new chief brand officer, aiming to accelerate the brand’s growth and enhance franchisee success.

Douglas has experience in brand development and activation and is expected to leverage his expertise to further the coffee franchise’s market presence and community engagement.

His track record includes executive leadership roles at the Procter & Gamble Company and E&J Gallo Winery.

He was a senior vice-president at Mark Anthony Group, and vice-president of global strategy and brand development at VF Corporation.

He played a key role in the expansion of brands such as The North Face, Vans, Timberland and Wrangler, doubling their revenues.

During his tenure as vice-president at E&J Gallo Winery, Douglas was instrumental in delivering success in premium and wine categories, including for the Barefoot, Bella Sera, Whitehaven and Louis M brands.

In March 2025, the brand announced its expansion in the US with a new three-store agreement in Henderson, Nevada.

Local entrepreneur Grant Vermillion and his family are spearheading this expansion, with the first location anticipated to open in 2025.
