Bonchon, a South Korea-based restaurant chain, has achieved a milestone with the opening of its 100th US restaurant at Bonchon Pleasanton, California.
The opening of the restaurant is part of Bonchon’s US expansion strategy in 2019 with the addition of 18 restaurants.
Signature chicken and Korean-fusion items are available in 21 US states and six countries.
It plans to exceed 20% growth target for the year and has already commenced the year with the opening of a new restaurant. Furthermore, it is on its way to achieving the five-year goal of 500 domestic restaurants and 1,000 total restaurants across the world.
VIG Partners bought a majority stake in Bonchon in December of 2018. As part of its brand’s expansion strategy, industry veteran Flynn Dekker was appointed as Bonchon CEO.
Dekker has undertaken a series of strategies, including supply chain development, technology improvements, marketing initiatives and the formation of an executive team with industry veterans.
