US-based restaurant chain BurgerFi International has announced the acquisition of two franchised locations in South Florida.

The two restaurants are located in Hallandale Beach and Miami Beach.

With the addition of these two locations, BurgerFi now operates 27 corporate locations throughout Florida.

BurgerFi International CEO Carl Bachmann said: “By defining the BurgerFi portfolio and strengthening our foundation, we recognised an opportunity for growth in our backyard.

“Operating these restaurants in highly trafficked, popular tourist spots in south Florida is a strategic move to solidify our presence in core markets.

“South Florida is a top destination for New Yorkers and now our guests can discover BurgerFi in South Florida and go back and enjoy it year-round in Manhattan. This is a win-win for both our guests and the brand.”

With this acquisition, the restaurant brand intends to expedite the company’s growth mode in the core market.

In May this year, BurgerFi appointed Carl Bachmann as its new CEO, who assumed the new role on 10 July 2023.

Earlier this month, BurgerFi announced its plan to open a new restaurant in New York this December.

It also plans to introduce a new dining experience known as the Better Burger Lab, which will offer exclusive and limited-edition menu items that “guests can’t find anywhere else”.
