US-based seafood restaurant chain Captain D’s is set to open its first UK location in Kent in August 2025.

Following the Kent opening, locations are planned for Sussex and Hampshire.

The US company has partnered with CD’s Holdings to introduce its seafood offerings to the UK and across Europe.

Captain D’s stated that its European expansion is progressing rapidly, with a 20-unit master franchise agreement in place for the UK.

It is actively seeking more multi-unit franchisees to extend the brand’s presence.

CD’s Holdings comprises seasoned entrepreneurs with diverse experience in the restaurant industry, security companies and accountancy companies in the UK.

It aims to establish itself as a global brand by entering the UK market, bringing its seafood and hospitality to international seafood enthusiasts.

The brand believes that its seafood and chicken menu, which caters to diverse cultural tastes, positions it well for success in the UK and other global markets.

Captain D’s senior vice-president of international operations and development Hair Parra stated: “This is an exciting time in the growth of our brand. Our master franchisees are committed to making a sustainable impact in the UK, and we are committed to working alongside them and offering new opportunities to other entrepreneurs as we expand into new international markets.”

CDs Holdings operations director Naveed Chattha stated: “We have been looking for the right brand to introduce to the UK market, which is exciting and healthy.

“There is a large fish and chips market in the UK, but no one has tried to apply discipline, standards and quality to such a level here before. With our experience, we feel Captain D’s is the right choice.”

With 530 restaurants across 23 US states, Captain D’s is also looking for master franchisees and multi-unit operators to support its international expansion in focus regions: Canada, the Caribbean, Central and Latin America, Indonesia, the Philippines, Singapore and Spain.
