American fast-casual restaurant chain Chicken Salad Chick has entered the Washington DC metro area with the launch of its first location in Falls Church, Virginia.

This is the first of eight planned outlets in the Northern Virginia suburbs, indicating a significant expansion for the brand.

The Falls Church restaurant was opened in partnership with Fairfax County native Devon Chamberlin.

Oakton-born Chamberlin of Nova Group, alongside her father Patrick Cavanaugh and father-in-law Barry Chamberlin, has brought the restaurant brand to her hometown area.

The Nova Group has a strategic five-year plan to further penetrate communities such as Arlington, Vienna, McLean, Springfield and Reston. A site in Fairfax will be the next to open.

This establishment is the seventh Chicken Salad Chick location in Virginia, joining others in Christiansburg, Hampton, Mechanicsville, Norfolk, Richmond and Roanoke.

The Falls Church outlet at 7505 Leesburg Pike features a patio for outdoor dining.

It offers a menu including made-from-scratch chicken salad flavours, side salads, gourmet soups, signature sandwiches and desserts.

To celebrate the opening, the company will host an event on 7 August 2024, where the first one hundred guests will receive free chicken salad for a year.

Devon Chamberlin said: “My first Chicken Salad Chick experience happened while I was living in Tallahassee, Florida.

“I was immediately drawn to the customer service, the freshness and quality of the food made in-house every day and the welcoming energy of the restaurant. Their chicken salad was hands-down the best in the area. After I moved back to Northern Virginia, I knew what was missing was a local Chick!”

“This restaurant has a hometown dream team, starting with our manager from Vienna, Karen Pollard. She and the rest of our talented crew can’t wait to introduce Chicken Salad Chick’s one-of-a-kind hospitality right here in our backyard.”
