US-based ice cream parlour chain Cold Stone Creamery plans to expand its footprint in Oklahoma City and Tulsa, aiming to capitalise on the growing foodservice sector in the cities.
The company intends to open eight new stores by 2034.
Oklahoma City and Tulsa, the two largest cities in the state of Oklahoma, are seen as fertile ground for Cold Stone Creamery’s expansion due to their ongoing economic development and job creation efforts.
The ice cream industry’s substantial economic impact includes an $11bn contribution to the US national economy and almost $2bn in direct wages.
With two existing locations in Oklahoma and more on the way, Cold Stone Creamery is not only focusing on these markets but also on Nashville, where it plans to open ten new locations by 2030.
Cold Stone Creamery brand leader Blake Borwick stated: “With more than 30 years of business experience contributing to the thriving ice cream industry, and more than 1000 locations and counting, Cold Stone Creamery has perfected a sustainable model that’s built for ease and scaleability, with low barriers to entry and minimal experience necessary for entrepreneurs to begin their ownership journey.
“Cold Stone Creamery has a strong reputation in Oklahoma, and it was built by franchise partners who value quality, service and community. We are prepared to expand our network of dedicated franchise partners and support new ownership.”
Headquartered in Scottsdale, Arizona, Cold Stone Creamery is owned by parent company Kahala Brands. The Cold Stone Creamery brand operates 1,500 locations globally in 30 countries.
