CommonWealth Coffeehouse & Bistro, part of San Antonio’s coffee culture, is opening a new location in Stone Oak in the US state of Texas, which will welcome customers in early summer 2025.

The expansion coincides with the company’s tenth anniversary in San Antonio.

The Stone Oak branch will uphold CommonWealth’s reputation for handcrafted espresso drinks, freshly baked croissants and house-made salads.

Owner Jorge Herrero stated: “We’re incredibly excited to bring CommonWealth to the Stone Oak community as we celebrate a decade of serving San Antonio.

“From day one, our mission has been to create a space where people can gather, enjoy exceptional coffee and fresh pastries, and feel at home. Expanding into Stone Oak allows us to connect with even more of our neighbours and continue growing this experience we’ve built over the past ten years.”

The new cafe aims to offer a space where guests can unwind, connect with others or focus on work.

Since its inception in 2015, CommonWealth Coffeehouse & Bistro has established itself as a purveyor of fine coffee and scratch-made pastries.  The brand has multiple locations across San Antonio.

In contrast to this growth, the CommonWealth Coffeehouse in Scranton closed indefinitely in September 2024 following a civil complaint issued by the building’s owner, which cited the presence of “skill slot games” within the establishment.
