Cousins Maine Lobster, a US-based franchise known for its lobster rolls, chowder and whoopie pies, is set to open its 65th food truck unit in DeKalb, Illinois, US.
The launch of the new store, which is scheduled for 27 April, coincides with the company’s 12th anniversary,
The food truck will be located at Whiskey Acres Distilling in DeKalb. The location has been selected for its spirits and family-friendly environment.
This expansion is spearheaded by franchisee brothers Yunus and Thameem Shahul, who are entering their sixth year of franchising with the brand.
The Shahul brothers’ latest venture in Northern Illinois represents their 11th Cousins Maine Lobster food truck.
The company experienced a positive reception from its February launch in the Chicago market.

In addition to the DeKalb launch, Cousins Maine Lobster announced earlier this year the growth of its food truck business with a new location in Gordonsville, Virginia.
The Virginia food truck began operations on February 23 at the Patch Brewing Company.
