American restaurant chain Cracker Barrel Old Country Store has initiated the largest menu revamp in its 55-year history.

Involving a new 20-item menu, the test is being conducted as part of the company’s strategic transformation.

The test will introduce new menu innovations to better meet the needs of the guests. 

Cracker also intends to enhance operations for an improved work and guest experience.

The trial includes dishes such as Hashbrown Casserole Shepherd’s Pie, Chicken ‘n’ Dumplin’ Soup, Green Chile Cornbread, Cinnamon Bread French Toast and Banana Pudding.

The test run of the revamped menu will continue until 5 August 2024 and is available at 14 Cracker Barrel locations across Texas.

The menu update features a refreshed approach to Daily Specials, which now include popular dishes available only on specific nights.

Lemon Pepper Trout n’ classic Turnip Greens will be served alongside new offerings such as Chicken n’ Rice Savory and Southern BBQ Ribs.

Cracker Barrel Old Country Store operations senior vice-president Cammie Spillyards-Schaefer said: “For nearly 55 years, guests have known and loved us for our authentic, homestyle cooking, and that’s not going away. We’ve only added more flavour and crave to the menu and made it easier to navigate.

“We’re excited for the Texas community to be the first to experience some of our new culinary innovations like premium, savoury Chicken n’ Rice and Green Chile Cornbread and we look forward to gaining valuable feedback, from both our guests and employees on the test.”

In early 2024 Cracker Barrel Old Country Store introduced new Easter meal offerings to provide guests with a home-cooked meal experience during the celebratory season.
