US-based Mexican quick service restaurant chain Del Taco has debuted its Virginia restaurant at Chesapeake.

Located at 1507 Sam’s Circle, the new store is part of a multi-unit deal aimed at broadening Del Taco’s presence on the US East Coast.

The Chesapeake restaurant offers the brand’s signature menu including tacos, Epic Burritos, quesadillas and Crinkle-Cut Fries.

The restaurant is the first for franchisees Steve Kissel and Brian McGavran.

The franchisees said: “It’s truly an honour to bring the fresh and unique flavours of Del Taco to the great state of Virginia.

“As the brand celebrates its 60th anniversary this year, it’s an exciting moment to be a part of Del Taco’s eastern expansion. We are grateful for the opportunity to serve the Chesapeake community with delicious menu options at unbeatable value.”

The Chesapeake location showcases Del Taco’s all-new Fresh Flex design, which features a modernised appearance and innovative layout changes. The colourful interior reflects the brand’s dedication to freshness and quality.

The new restaurant features dual drive-through lanes and pick-up lockers for orders placed through the Del Taco mobile app or third-party food delivery services.

Each item is prepared fresh in-house with quality ingredients including freshly grilled chicken and carne asada steak, freshly grated cheddar cheese, scratch-made beans, signature creamy Queso Blanco, hand-chopped pico de Gallo and house-made guacamole.

In June 2024 Del Taco opened a new company-owned restaurant in Orlando, Florida – the brand’s sixth establishment there.
