Del Taco will further expand its presence in the south-east of the US with the signing of a new multi-unit deal.

The five units deal was signed with franchisees Brandon Jones and Tyrone Smith.

Del Taco Development senior vice-president Jeff Little said: “Brandon and Tyrone capture everything we look for in a franchise partner.

“They are committed to their community and place a strong focus on people and operations, which translates directly into successful growth in the brands they work with, which aligns perfectly with Del Taco’s culture.

“We look forward to continuing to bring fresh quality Mexican food to the residents of Alabama and for the first time, to the state of Mississippi, in partnership with our newest franchisees.”

According to the terms of the agreement, the franchisees will be opening five new Del Taco restaurants in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, and the state of Mississippi.

It is the first time that Del Taco will be entering Mississippi.

Jones said: “Tyrone and I have over four decades of experience operating in the quick-service restaurant (QSR) franchise space and have great success in making sure the brands we work with grow within the Mississippi and Alabama markets.

“This area has been in need of a superior Mexican QSR brand and we strongly believe Del Taco will be a big hit, especially under our guidance and ownership.”

Last month, Del Taco signed a multi-unit development deal with franchisee Sam Abusaleem in Huntsville, Alabama.

Under this agreement, Del Taco will add a further six locations in Alabama.
