Delight Restaurant Group has acquired 44 Wendy’s restaurants on Long Island, New York, US, from The Wendy’s Company.
As part of the deal, the group intends to build several new Wendy’s restaurants in the region. Under the brand’s Image Activation initiative, it will also remodel some of the acquired restaurants.
The 44 restaurants included in the deal employ more than 1,200 team members.

The group further plans to strengthen its presence in the market through acquisitions and new unit development.

Established by Andrew and Richard Krumholz in 2016, Delight Restaurant Group currently operates 155 Wendy’s and Taco Bell locations.
The acquisition in New York is the group’s second deal this year after acquiring 54 Wendy’s restaurants in Raleigh, North Carolina as part of the NPC International bankruptcy sale process.
Delight Restaurant Group acquired the locations in March, for an undisclosed sum, from a subsidiary of NPC International.
The acquired restaurants have more than 1,500 employees and produce revenue of more than $85m a year.
