By GlobalDataDeliveroo Australia country manager Levi Aron was quoted by foodservicenews.com.au as saying: “This expansion is an important milestone in what has been a year of strong growth in the Australian market.
“Since entering the Australian market only three years ago, the company has received an overwhelmingly positive response from restaurants, riders and customers alike.
“We look forward to continuing to bring Deliveroo to an even greater number of customers throughout Australia while providing flexible, well-paid work to even more riders, and generating new revenue streams for our restaurant partners.”
With this latest expansion, Deliveroo is now available in 13 Australian cities, including Brisbane, Gold Coast, Adelaide, Canberra, Geelong, Wollongong, and Penrith.
The delivery service is currently available from 8,000 restaurants and the company expects to add an additional 1,200 restaurants over the next few months.
In a separate development, the company has announced the launch of its second delivery-only super-kitchen, Deliveroo Editions, in Collingwood, Melbourne.
It can accommodate up to 25 different brands to operate from nine commercially equipped kitchens.
