US-based restaurant chain Dickey’s Barbecue Pit has broadened its culinary repertoire with the introduction of a new side item, Texas Toast.
The latest addition is set to accompany the chain’s signature pit-smoked meats.
Texas Toast is described as “cooked to perfection” and features a buttery crunch on the outside while remaining soft and sweet on the inside due to a unique cornmeal dust sprinkle.
The new side item is available with one, two, or three meat plates and can be ordered individually to pair with any barbecue selection on the menu.
After extensive guest testing and sampling of bread options, Dickey’s Barbecue Pit has selected this particular toast for its ability to complement the traditional, Texas-style barbecue offerings.
Dickey’s Capital Group CEO Roland Dickey said: “The new Texas Toast we launched this January has been a huge success so far.

In October 2023, Dickey’s Barbecue Pit opened a new restaurant in Alberta, Canada.
Located in Leduc, the new restaurant is owned and operated by Faisal Khan Suri.
The new venue’s offering included custom Halal menu items and Texas-style barbecue dishes. With this new opening, Dickey’s Barbecue Pit has continued its northern expansion.
Suri said: “Being a part of a strong global brand such as Dickey’s has been great. Their willingness to accommodate and serve the community is impressive and their product offerings are a testament to that.
“With strong representation in Edmonton, it only made sense for us to be in the amazing community of Leduc. A community full of life and fantastic people. My family and I were ecstatic to join the Dickey family and the journey so far has been nothing short of great.”
